Albert Vicere, a professor of strategic leadership at Penn State University, has defined great leadership as stewardship. He says that stewardship in an organization is “a leader’s relentless commitment to life, love and legacy.” First of all, great leaders are committed to enhancing the quality of life for all who come in contact with the organization. Second, such leaders have a genuine love for the organization and its people. Third, and perhaps most important, a great leader is committed to “passing the organization on to the next generation of leaders in better shape than it was when he/she
took the helm. This is the core of stewardship.”
The best is now!
